The arcade is not huge but not tiny either, but was very expensive so we didn’t spend too much time in it but it was still a fun part of our experience. I felt comfortable letting our 12 year old roam free and do her own thing, she was even able to get a room key loaded on to her wrist band which really came in handy when making sure we all had somewhere to meet up for check ins. The water parks are great for both big and small kids. However if you can just accept the fact that it’s essentially kid vegas and let go a little you will have a great time. It is definitely crowded and a crazy experience of over sugared unsupervised children running everywhere. We brought our 12 and 3 year old here and had a blast! You have to be able to go with the flow here. The quality has not returned to pre-pandemic levels. I will not return to GWL as the prices has gone from $657 in 2017 to $1019 in 2023. They arrive in the morning and stay until evening activities. They clog up resources, make more messes and crowd areas. The day trippers really ruin the trip for resort overnighter's. There is 99 restaurant, Outback, and the Old Mill just a few minutes away. Don't bother paying GWL for fast food with premium dining prices. There are many restaurants to eat around the area. Much better than standing in line at 7:30am. PROS: 1.) Easy check-in using the app and kiosk. The minimum wage staff person has to keep track of your wrist application to make sure you are not charged for this rags. The towels are old, raggy and not even folded anymore. Sadly, with prices being raised, they didn't return this event for the kids. This was an awesome event that they stopped doing during the pandemic. Candy shop had nothing that looked "fresh". Compared to years' past, the shelves were bare. Not fair to those that shell out $$$ to stay overnight. Again, day trippers ruin this experience by crowding the lobby. The motivation is to sell you overly-priced toys while you try to enjoy the activity. 5.) Activities for kids in the lobby are sub-par. Luckily, we were on the 2nd floor and used the stairs. Staff clean the room to base-level satisfaction. Our room was filled with mold and crud in the corners. Which means you have to shell out more $$$ for a basic commodity. Tables have been moved to "premium seating". So you can order food, but you have to eat it in your seat. You cannot find a spot and enjoy it comfortably. CONS: 1.) Jacuzzi is filled to the max with bodies. For those that stay at the resort and shell out $1000's, they get the short end of the stick. The attendees that use the resort just for the day ruin the entire experience. In a nutshell, the price goes up and the quality goes down. Granted, we go at a busy time (after Thanksgiving), but I can assure you that allows me to make a concerted effort when evaluating the resort and services. The Midnight Flyer is being made by amusement ride manufacturer Vekoma Rides in the Netherlands, custom fit to the roller coaster site at Santa’s Village. The colors feature Midnight blue cars with silver trim, offset by Northern Lights-inspired green track - an ideal combination for flights originating from the North Pole. It’s about fifty percent taller, and slightly faster, than the previous coaster, and its new cars with individual laps bars will accommodate a wider range of adults and children. The Midnight Flyer will give riders the feel of flying with reindeer, just like Santa does to deliver presents.Ĭhildren at least 36 inches tall will be able to ride with adults, as the Midnight Flyer climbs over 40 feet before descending into a series of hops, twists, and turns at up to 25 mph. The new Midnight Flyer family roller coaster is being built for 2024 on the spot where the retired Rudy’s Rapid Transit used to be.
